🔥 Who Is Going to Be on the Floor

More than 50 exhibitors means three kinds of table: employers recruiting for openings they need filled now, colleges working the room for adult students, and vocational-technical schools selling the certificate that gets somebody into a trade in under a year. The Holiday Inn Tampa Westshore Airport is the default room for this kind of event, and it hosts more than one this fall. 💼 Where Tampa Is Actually Adding Jobs

Walk in knowing where the growth is. Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics figures for the Tampa metro show 8,600 jobs added in the year through July 2026, a gain of 0.6 percent. Education and health services carried it with 6,600 jobs, up 2.6 percent. Professional and business services added 3,800, construction another 1,800.

The other direction matters too. Trade, transportation and utilities gave back 1,300 jobs over the same stretch, information lost 1,200, and financial activities shed 800. If you are coming out of a call center or a back-office finance role, the clinical and trades tables are where the open seats are, and the schools in the room exist to bridge exactly that gap. On pay, do not assume the legal floor is the offer. Ask for the actual starting range on the shift you would work.

Dress like it is an interview, because at some of these tables it is one, and bring about 20 copies of your resume. That sounds like a lot until you are on table 14 and out of paper. Get there closer to 10:00 than to 2:00, while recruiters are fresh and the lines are short, and carry your ID and your work history dates on your phone. Plenty of exhibitors will hand you a tablet and ask you to apply on the spot.
