What Macy's Announced for the 2026 Holiday Season

Macy's, Inc. laid out its season in a holiday hiring announcement. The company is hiring seasonal workers across its Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury stores and at select supply chain sites, with in-person hiring days on September 24, October 22 and November 19. Macy's says event times vary by location.

Here's the honest part. Macy's named 10 top hiring markets for its stores this year, and the only Florida market on the list is Miami. Tampa Bay isn't on it. The hiring days still run nationwide, and all five Bay Area stores are open and staffing for the season. Macy's has not published a headcount for any Tampa Bay store, and we won't guess at one.

🗺️ Five Stores Around the Bay

Tampa. The Citrus Park store anchors Westfield Citrus Park off the Veterans Expressway, the closest pick for Westchase, Town 'n' Country, Carrollwood and Northdale.

Brandon. Westfield Brandon sits right at I-75 and State Road 60, an easy run for Riverview, Valrico, Seffner and the rest of eastern Hillsborough.

Wesley Chapel. The Shops at Wiregrass store covers fast-growing Pasco County, plus New Tampa and Lutz by way of State Road 56.

Clearwater. Westfield Countryside on US 19 is the north Pinellas option for Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor, Dunedin and Oldsmar.

St. Petersburg. Tyrone Square on 22nd Avenue North serves St. Pete, Seminole and the beaches.

Another Hiring Event the Same Day

Different event, different crowd. If you're a veteran, a military spouse or transitioning service member, October 22 is also the date of the Tampa Veterans Job Fair at the Tampa Convention Center. Want more than a holiday job? The Tampa Bay Job & Career Fair on November 2 brings dozens of employers to Westshore.

💵 What It Pays and What Comes With It

Macy's says every job posting lists its pay range, so you see the number before you apply. The company lists colleague discounts, 401(k) savings, access to earned wages before payday and an employee assistance program among its benefits, with medical, dental and vision coverage based on eligibility.

📋 How to Show Up Ready on Oct. 22

Call the store first. Macy's says event hours vary by location, and the five Bay Area stores may not match. The numbers are in the table above.
Apply online before you go.
Bring photo ID. If you're hired, you'll fill out work-authorization paperwork.
Know your availability. Nights, weekends and the days around Thanksgiving are what holiday retail runs on.
